>>52804714In the connecting cave there's the downstairs by the pokemaniac, there's a good chance to run into Onix there. Onix in GSC is a beast, it can't hit hard but it's so defensive and speedy, and has screech, and is a good user of Dig that he solo's the next three gyms.
