>>56302785>Methinks it was mostly teens who are super self-conscious and especially concerned about appearances and recoil at "unconventional" thingsbased take, i think this is right. old men, or even young men who aren't traditionally attractive, are definitely an acquired taste, but once you acquire it all the young fit pretty boys suddenly seem bland in comparison. wrinkles, skin blemishes, body fat, balding, and other imperfections are all beautiful in their own way, and it's refreshing to see characters with those features who are not automatically treated as gonk/ugly per se
