Maybe it's just me, but I find overworld encounters more frustrating than random ones. The reason being is that you are conditioned to think you have more control over whether or not you will encounter a wild Pokemon thanks to the visual immediacy of a potential encounter but the fact that Pokemon can just pop-up under your feet just undermines this. Thus, when you do have a scenario in which you're looking to avoid Pokemon, are able to navigate around Pokemon that pre-exist in the visual space, but then one randomly spawns a foot away from you (and can't be reasonably avoided), its all the more obnixous and intrusive than random encounters - where at least upon entering the grass you have already accepted such a scenario. Maybe this is just a flaw in the execution rather than the method, but does anyone else feel this way?
