Gen 5 was robbed of a good anime series. They had the blueprints. All they needed to do was follow those blueprints, expand upon them with meaningful character arcs, and cast better companions(Bianca was perfect for this), rivals, and team composition. This could've been the first season that let's Ash use a legendary pokemon. Imagine how epic the pokemon league battle would've been with Ash vs N with both legendary dragons. But most of all, it wouldn't have been remembered as a laughingstock of a series that people unanimously define as the worst. I even believe that half the reason why Gen 5 in general got so much shit was because of the anime.
