>>21308133So I'm now allowed to get on the boat, and there still isn't a single battle in sight. Eventually I find the kid with the Gary sprite, who introduces himself as Ryan and rambles about how worried he is about the future. Everyone in this hack is worried and nobody wants to fight.
After getting off the boat, I get to Hevah Academy -- "The source of knowledge of trainers."
I have to sit through lectures that are 100% text and exposition and they take forever. When I finish them all I go downstairs and the professor is an asshole who steals my Symbol of Freedom.
He tells me to battle Ryan, finally a battle, and then oh wait Dark Organization is attacking and we all have to escape.
I've been playing this hack for more than two hours and I've had three fucking battles in it. I guess this is what's "in," plot-driven hacks where you have to sit through large swathes of nothing before you can do anything at all. It's like Rescue Rangers but worse because battles at least came more frequently there, and there isn't even any horrible writing yet to make the large swathes of nothingness entertaining. I'm having trouble keeping myself playing this.
