>>29593130I think the video above kinda helps to explain the rationale. The Fighting and Dark (Evil originally) types in japan are based on the Hero vs Evil/Villain relationship dynamic. As faeries often empower or give their blessing to heroes in order to fight evil, it could be said they're a bit above them in the hierarchy of power/good. In an alternative way, bad faeries can and often also curse the protagonists of stories (like the aforementioned Carabosse and Maleficent).
