Unironically, what people confuse for modern=bad past=good is Nostalgia, which most users on the website, and most people of this generation cling onto, not remembering that the past fucking sucked ass, but cling to it regardless because they refuse to grow up so they reject change because "nostalgia".
At the end of the day, its a shiny hook, but it ultimately stems from a whiny pissant who is stuck in the past.
