I have a Weavile, Garchomp, and a Life Orb / Choice Band. Weavile has Throat Chop, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard and Brick Break. Garchomp has Outrage, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Swords Dance. Originally I was going to go Life Orb Garchomp and Choice Band Weavile, but thought that since Garchomp will get locked into outrage a lot, perhaps I should go choice band on him instead and just replace swords dance.
TL;DR
Choice Band and Life Orb, which of the two do each go best on?

The main problem with Palmer is that the game doesn't give you a reasonable way to prep for him. The BP you get before facing Palmer is 6. That's not enough for any kind of EV equipment or Competitive items. The best you can do is buy a few vitamins to maybe try and get one mon up to fighting shape, but even then it has to be subsidized with hundreds of thousands of dollars. Should have at least given you enough for one EV training item minimum.

Long time fan of the franchise here that stopped playing after S/M. My first game was Red on the GBA when I was barely old enough to even understand the game. I played every generation except for X/Y which I skipped out on because I didn't like the look of it, and SW/SH because of the cut dex and just overall looking shitty. When the Gen 4 remakes were revealed to be this chibi shit one to one remake with like no new features I just decided to sit it out again, wait and see if a better gen or remake eventually comes along. But the more I think about it, Gen 4 was fun, I did play it and like it. So maybe this one for one remake will actually have some soul in it left over from the original, instead of modern Gamefreak garbage.

TL;DR The remakes are just copy pastes of the original gen 4, but at least back then it had soul. Should I buy or not?

Online was only good for Gens 4-6 anyway, but even it Gen 6 it was starting to go downhill due to team preview where you can see your opponent's party before the battle begins. Gen 7 had worse matchmaking than Gen 6, and the meta was just Tapu cancer (worse than Gen 5 genie cancer and Gen 4 sneaky pebbles). I haven't played much of Gen 8, but you can look at the rental teams that are copied from players who are winning tournaments. It's literally the same shit on every team out of a pool of maybe 20 Pokemon at most. Not even Gen 3 meta was that bad. Competitive Pokemon is for literal autistic subhumans now. It's not fun anymore due to power creep and GF nerfing older mons and the dex itself.

made a small difference to me, I didn't buy a switch and just kind of moved on from pokemon. I've only been browsing /vp/ recently because I was nostalgic and had started a White 2 run. It doesn't really matter to me if pokemon fails, I can always play the old ones I like or move on to other franchises / genres which is what I did. The fact that the current players need to put down anyone who didn't buy them to me says that they're desperate to get us back into the fold for some reason. I'll just assume that because anyone with dignity has left the quality of the fanbase has plummeted with more fags and coomers and sjws shilling for gamefreak, and now you want non-NPCs back so you try to demoralize them and tell them their choice doesn't matter.
