Paldean Fates, despite the name, at least seems to have a decent spread of Pokemon. By my count, about 70+ of the shiny cards come from gens 5 and earlier, and I think the representation of earlier generations has been handled pretty well. It's a decent mix of old favourites and new pokemon (and frankly, I think most of the included gen 9 pokemon are better designed than gen 8).
Pic related, it's a rough breakdown of the respective Japanese versions of SF and PF. Did the tally very quickly, so the numbers might not be totally accurate, but it gives a decent sense of just how abysmal the representation was in Shining Fates.
