I just noticed that 4/8 of BW's aces are at the lowest possible level to be fully evolved. Cool.
Clay's ace is hands-down one of the hardest of B/W. On top of Excadrill's amazing stats, Ground/Rock coverage with a boosting move is no joke, not to mention Slash crits. The rest of his team is easy but could catch newer players off-guard. At this point in the game you have enough options that you don't have to be too creative to deal with drill. Ironically every starter has some advantage against Excadrill, basically the opposite of the previous gym.
Skyla is the first disappointing gym leader. It might just be my autism but I hate it when Gym Leaders barely use the TM they hand out. I don't get why Unfezant/Swanna don't get Acrobatics. Basically everything in Chargestone Cave can deal with her, and if you have a balanced team she should be no trouble. Swanna is the only X-factor and might be overwhelming without an electric type but you have no shortage of those.
Brycen is hot trash.
Drayden/Iris are weird because they wanted to give them DD Haxorus (5 levels early) but balanced so the only dragon STAB is Dragon Tail. It's not the worst thing but it's counterintuitive. I like the Druddigon has Revenge so it can at least stand toe-to-toe with a few of the steel types you can get at this point. If you opt out of using Ice or Steel types (which isn't that hard) it could be somewhat challenging but Unova has a lot of strong bulky hitters that can deal strong neutral hits. Plus you have Frost Breath/Blizzard available at this point.
