by trading in $120+ in used games that no one wants except for retailers.

The loss of your sale actually hurts retailers more than it does to Nintendo, TPC, and Game Freak. They got their money when retailers ordered their copies and your sale only gives stores a minor bump (around $5 USD) in profit after taking in the costs to order a copy for resale. It DOES hurt those entities when they order less of the next entry in the series when it comes around though. t. Someone who works in retail and can order games from distributors.
