It's sub tropical. Kyushu, the island it's based off of in Japan, isn't a Hawaiian Coconut Tree paradise. It's a varied place, that happens to have a warm climate due to it being the most southern part of Japan.
Pic related, is an actual forest in Kyushu. Which doesn't really scream rainforest, if you ask me.
