>>50559458Some people might say so, my opinion is that if it's your first encounter on a route, and you actually manage to catch it without a Master Ball, it's kosher. I say that because it's a legitimate risk, since they're hard to catch and can potentially wipe your team while you're trying to catch them (especially if you've put restrictions on healing items). If I remember correctly, in Gen IV Dialga/Palkia have a weirdly high catch rate (same as Chatot), so that sort of doesn't jive with that philosophy, but you're playing Platinum and Giratina is a motherfucker to catch.
So TL;DR: play the game how you want. Giratina is obscenely strong, obviously, but it's also a real risk to your team to sit down and catch without a Master Ball. But these are self-imposed rules for a game designed for 8 year olds, so play it in the way that's fun for you. I think most people in the thread won't grill you for playing in an "easier" way.
