I believe opening a souvenir/present and visiting a location pointed out by your buddy does not have a cooldown, although granted, I imagine the odds of getting multiple of these in a half hour are not super high. Also, neither graphic points this out, but apparently battling a Team GO Rocket Grunt, a Team GO Rocket Leader and Giovanni all give separate Emotion Points and operate on separate timers so you can do one of all three in a half-hour, hypothetically.
>>42498973Visiting any gym, even one you've been to before, also counts for the "Visit a new location" activity. Whether that's intentional or not is unknown, but it certainly makes it a lot easier. Some people are saying today on TheSilphRoad subreddit that they are suddenly no longer receiving hearts from visiting old gyms, however, but I have no idea if that's true or not.
