>>38784652The same reason Braixen's Bulbapedia page says its Japanese name is Tairenar when it's actually Teerenar/Teirenar, all because of a single promotional poster with a typo in it by a Japanese dude who didn't know how to convert katakana into romaji: people aren't perfect at their jobs. Some mistakes slip through the cracks and become canon not because they're correct, but in spite of being factually incorrect.
