>>36466882To be fair, the anime's shown trainers who seem to know what their pokémon are saying/feeling/thinking (Mina being most recent but I remember the surf dude with Puka the Pikachu also having an understanding of him and Ash also also told Poipole with his rubbing up against Pikachu's cheeks that Pika said it tickled). Always considered it the pinnacle of the bond between you and your pokémon, the ability to understand each other's communication, even if one side is vocalising with less than words.
