I had a couple of female once, they had the weirdest chemistry out of all the rats I've had.
We bought the husky one from one shop, then 2 days later we bought a hooded from another shop.
Big mistake.
They went full territorial feud and fought a lot for a while, nothing severe though (they never injured each-other).
Once they grew closer they started acting like proper cagemates, sleeping in the same house and grooming each other, but they'd still brawl a lot.
Then with the years they started acting like an old married couple: one liked everything to be tidy and the other was pretty messy.
A common thing to see was a ballet of the hooded bringing food inside their house, and the husky bringing it back to their plate outside, none of them noticing that the other was undoing what they were trying to do 'as they were entering/exiting the house from different entrances) for 10 minutes.
When the hooded one died of a tumor, the husky got restless for a couple of days, then she stopped living until she eventually stopped living literally.
