If I wanted to read I'd play a VN or watch the anime.
You might not mind the dialogue on first playthrough, but it absolutely kills repeatability and USUM were a slog for it. Let's put things into perceptive: it takes roughly 45 minutes for you to receive your starter and learn how to battle in SM. If this were a gen 1-4 game you would be close to the first gym leader by then. I'm not bullshitting, look up anyway playthrough.
Basically just.. stop acting like Game Freak are the perfect developer. You would be bashing other series if they did things like this and were not previously known for doing it.
