>>34450228>The battle system also need to be more challenging and deep.I'd argue we need less moves overall and less clones of moves/abilities. The battle system is already challenging and deep ... for multiplayer. The problem is two fold: single player assumes the player is a retard and doesn't ask you to learn the nuances of its own system. It actively doesn't teach you, and instead band-aids any challenge with handouts and nukes in the form of ever increasing BP attacks.
That leads to ny second point, the power creep. GF seems to "balance" arbitrarily. As if an afterthought. Make an OP dragon and give it an easily spammable 120 BP move? Oh shit! Fix it in the next game by making even more OP evolutions and creating a type that over shadows the previous OP type that doesn't actually fix anything! It's like they don't understand their own game. or why people like Pokémon in the first place.
I don't give a shit about some little girl and her mommy issues. I like my monsters. but because of a single player campaign that's so braindead it's not even fun, and because multiplayer balance is so skewed towards certain monsters, I can't even get enjoyment out if trying to use my favorite designed monsters.
GF needs a BotW. Not in substance, but in spirit. They need to completely retool their games or risk losing the very fanbase that props them up.
