It was interesting to see people of all nationalities. I sat on the boat next to a family from Japan. They did not really talk much among themselves.
I work in Japan, in Nagasaki coincidentally. When I was scheduled to go to Oahu on business one of my coworkers said sarcastically "Remembah, Pauru Haaba." then another came up and sarcastically said "Remembah Nagasaki Hiroshima!" We all had a good laugh. The Japanese as a whole seem to be over the whole WWII thing, Once I was in a room with the raising the flag on Iwa Jima picture, a coworker asked what it was, I told him and he responded "Oh we lost that one" then had a light chuckle.
