>>27695699Probably. It's not that I look at the new Pokemon and think "golly gee whiz, which of these spiffy new creatures would I like to show the ol' howdy-doody?" but that, being a furry, nonhuman characters appeal to me more in general.
Most games have to have interesting gameplay (Fire Emblem) or enjoyable story (Dragon Quest) or I feel no reason to keep going, but Pokemon keeps me interested despite relying mostly on the same mechanics and story (fight gyms, topple evil gang, catch Special Big Pokemon, become Champion) since Gen I. With very few exceptions, the NPCs aren't particularly interesting, so I figure it's gotta be the cute Pokemon.
And then later I come back and realize I want to lewd the snek. And hug the snek.
