Whitney and Claire got a lot of hate back then for being bitchy and the badge thing kek, but I thought it was fun and they were the more memorable Johto gym leaders for me. They felt like individuals with feelings and free will instead of just another opponent to beat. Though seeing the things modern "mean" pokegirls have gotten hate for is very amusing. Geeta didn't register as much of a character to me but Larry fans despised her, they treated her like an evil capitalist slavedriver kek.
