>>47053608Because GF already gave Tyranitar a mechagodzilla counterpart that was already popular, and, because SWSH had to be terrible, they removed it, only to add it back later after seeing Duraludon fail. Aggron was shilled as Tyranitar's rival for a bit in gen 6 and has had a solid fanbase since it's debut. I have no idea why they tried to make Duraludon anything other than dex filler, let alone Tyranitar's new rival, the ace of the strongest gym leader, and the recipient of the new gimmick form.
