>>46174143You obviously did not own an actual Gameboy or Gameboy Color. Gold and Silver were only GBC games in that they had a limited color pallet that could be accessed by the GBC. Their actual cartridges were Gameboy carts. They ran on the original Gameboy, and the GBC but they were made with the original GB in mind. It's not too different from how the Super Gameboy worked.
SOME games (like only a hundred) were made with the GBC in mind but those were rare, and most of them came late into the system's life span. Crystal had this type of cartridge but very few games used that format. Most were just GB games that could be played in color too.
