>>21782138>Sure you CLAIM to have bought games twice over on other formats (if you did this then you are not making up for your initial freeloading you're just being a dope) but if true how many other games have you enjoyed playing and not paid for because it didn't came out on formats you couldn't play your ill-gotten pirate versions on?http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2010/05/file-sharers-are-content-industrys-largest-customers/http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/research/telecoms-research/online-copyright/deep-dive.pdfhttp://www.theguardian.com/music/2009/apr/21/study-finds-pirates-buy-more-musicEtc etc.
tl;dr - Your imaginary boogeyman got BTFO. Objective data gathered from research conducted NUMEROUS times from many different parties point to pirates spending more on media for various reasons. Not only that, but pirates not only spend more money on a small scale but by a HUGE margin. Games that I pirate and don't pay for? Guess what, I wouldn't have purchased them otherwise anyway, so there is no money lost.
Also you missed the point about me not scratching their sales. It wasn't justification, it was just making a point that as a popular IP, Pokemon will sell assloads regardless. It had no bearing as to whether or not me pirating the game was acceptable, it was a simple observation.
