>>56375219I would personally focus way more on the bond between trainer and pokemon resulting in feats that other pokemon of that species can't do, between Megas, Battle Bond, Z-Moves, basic friendship mechanics, etc. the connection is always important and it can do things people have not seen before
Pokemon being really special should be way more about nurture than nature
If it happens because of nature there still needs to be reason, even if it's just developing more about the location that pokemon inhabited before more than the pokemon itself
IVs are a shitty stat that shouldn't exist
Objectively there is nothing wrong with genetic special cases in species, it's a statistical anomaly but it should happen at least sometimes
It's just boring when people just throw it into a narrative and just expect you to not think too hard about it
