>>47318685hell yea! I didn't realize how handicapped/attached to the starter I was until doing no starter runs. Now I'm much more attached to the mons that have lasted since the early routes, like Wingull caught at level 3 here.
One other thing that I have been doing is using Wikipedia "random article" button to pick names for each caught mon. But I wish that it had some more controls like showing random articles of only people, or geographies, or ones in the non-english wiki pages.
