Friends, friends! Let's have a moment to breathe in and calm down, shall we? Now, let's talk about this like rational folk. The people of Sinnoh have a robust culture full of myth and legend, a culture of fine artistic value that deserves respect. They have their traditions, and they're entitled to them. Leave that lay.
As far as the rest of this debate goes, well it's not too difficult to solve. We all know Arceus is real, and we know it can make pokemon. We also know it IS a pokemon, one that's very much alive to this day. Pokemon trace their heritage back millions of years, and scientists have more or less determined where they originate. We can speculate about the logistics of the legend, but Occam's razor dictates that the simplest answer, and the one requiring the least speculation as it's rooted firmly in scientific evidence, is that Mew is the oldest known ancestor to pokemon, Arceus included.
There, see? Let's all get along now.
