>>54626801Oh definitely, I've been following him closely ever since his Vocaloid days and I actually loved when he started singing his own songs. It was different, but he's got talent. Vivi really connected with me during some depressing times in my life, and I'm actually sad he doesn't illustrate his music videos anymore because I like his art.
But when I was in Japan earlier this year they had Kick Back playing everywhere. Not just in Akihabara or anything, but super markets in the outskirts of Tokyo. It's pretty popular.
Sand Planet is a great song, I can understand where he's coming from honestly because I don't really use Niconico as much as I used to back in those days. It did definitely have its own distinct culture that feels like it dumbed down as it became more mainstream. And a lot of his Vocaloid buddies he made music with were moving on or completely gone. I didn't think of it as him dunking on Vocaloid but just understandably not feeling as connected. I don't think he'd have come back to make Sand Planet at all if he truly had harsh feelings regarding Vocaloid. I think it was more personal. Something tells me he'd be game for making a Pokemon song, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.
