What would you guys think of the elite 4 and champion becoming postgame (not the entirety of the postgame obviously, but part of it)? I feel like it generally already takes a second precedent to the actual unique story for each given game. It would also allow a very easy way to circumvent the issue of the games being too difficult for younger children.
Here's an example format:
>Battle 8 monotype gym leaders
>Battle 4 other mono or dual type bosses: not located in the same location (so you may heal between or whatever), who sort of take the same role as the current elite 4 but stay ez
>Battle Rival X times
>Resolve main story with legendaries n shiet, postgame opens up and you have the full freedom to complete the pokedex etc
>Now you are free to challenge the elite 4 and rival
>Elite 4 are no longer monotype and do not have teambuilding restrictions
>Champion has no teambuilding restrictions and is allowed to have a fully optimized team
They can build the elite 4 and champion teams by enlisting a few pro players and having them draft pokemon from a pool sorted into tiers by power (so they cant have too many strong pokemon on each team), and choose the sets and items. Then have them work together on the champion team, with a similar draft restriction but more leeway power wise (and not having to work against eachother for pokemon).
