Soft theming around self actualization and self improvement. I imagine in universe you need more than a fair amount of charisma, determination, emotional intelligence and other abstract traits to be a pokemon champion rather than just a type chart and a bunch of potions.
>keldeoIs implied a couple times to not actually be a legendary pokemon until it was christened/knighted by the other swords. Multiple dex entries talk about how it must train before they allow it to do hero stuff
>SalamenceLiterally willed itself into growing wings out of desperation and desire.
>FroslassIn pvp, its a shitmon that gains viability despite its underwhelming stats by sacrificing itself to give the rest of the team offesnive pressure. It's obviously unintentional, but i think emergent unit design like that is pretty cool
>gyaradosYeah.
>LopunnyA friendship evolution is physical evidence of a strong bond between trainer and pokemon. Lopunny in particular is noteworthy because its the only pokemon to learn return without tms and it always starts at 0 friendship; you're not getting it without a lot of time and effort. I want the ace to be gyara, but this thing won't contribute anything if it doesnt have the highest level... anyway, it'll switch out if it detects that itll die or has lower base speed after fake out
>MarowakThe fact that it's alive means it survived and grew past its awful life as a child. Also i meant to put restalk on it and forgot.
>themehttps://youtu.be/zPjDl9T1-1Y?t=2509Good Job, Detective!
I like B2W2 and XY's take on champion themes as more of victory laps; a credit to how far you've come
>>49097255I dig the implication of an ongoing narrative by having the pancham. SD/U-turn slways seems to let me down though, 8/10
