>>45064795I like pokemon, as in, I like the creatures. I like their biology/background/backstory and everything about the enviorment they live in, and how they interact with humans. I wanted to study biology but couldn't, so pokemon make me happy and they give me that small dosis of nature studying thing I was looking for. As long as there are new pokemon, I will be interested in it. Or even if there isn't new pokemon in the future I can always revisit old stuff. This is precisely why I couldn't get into other collect-them-all and pet-simulation cartoons like digimon (digital monsters) or medabots (robot battles) or yugioh (just kids playing cards). I love seeing pokemon in their habitat playing around and becoming friends with humans.
But I really fucking hate GameFreak, and I'm not buying any main pokemon game until GameFreak gets nerfed the fuck out. I recently saw a video saying that Nintendo only owns 34% of The Pokemon Company, and while I don't know if this is true, I really wish they owned more, it does make an impact believe it or not.
My favorite games will always remain Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Darkness. And I enjoy random side games like Shuffle or Pinball, they really make me happy. The cards seem fun to collect even if I don't play them, and some merch is alright (just some, a lot of products are either too childlike, too girly, or pandering to the pokemon go demographic). But hell, it's been years since I bought those as I have other priorities as an adult.
So yeah, unless they fix the main games, I'm done with it. I'd rather look at stunning fanart than watch a full playthrough of sword and shield. Not giving them my money.
