It's impossible to go back to innocence. You already know about natures and hidden values. You already know how imperfect your Pokemon are unless you waste your time making it otherwise, still knowing that, someone hacked a perfect team in just a few minutes.
You also know that you cannot be a Karenfriend in a competitive environment because beneath the game are just numbers and some numbers are higher than others. A lone Pachirisu amongst a team of common Smogon mons doesn't mean much, tbh.
Pokemon games don't seem worth it to me anymore outside of the main game and collecting (granted that you aren't using online trading because it makes it too easy and pointless).
Then again, I am only a single person with limitations. I'm sad that I can't enjoy the things that other people can enjoy. But I'm happy that I can at least still find something for myself in my favorite childhood-rooted activity.
