Serena is nowhere nearly as good as May. She is inferior to Mallow and Dawn in term of beauty. Even Miette looked much more prettier than her in Showcase and Dance episode without any curves. The anime pretty much had to screw Miette and Shauna's potential to give Serena spotlight, it makes me hate characters like Serena even more. Not to mention Aria and Amilia completely outclassed Serena on beauty.
May is the clear winner on looks department since she does not need her curves, makeup and outfit to herself prettier. Unlike Serena who can not become pretty without them.
