You know how Gen 1 Pokemon were all based heavily on Japanese pop culture but stayed the same through development, and Gen 2 Pokemon were all weird JRPG monsters that got smoothed over until they just looked like normal animals? I'm thinking something similarly weird had to have happened with the Ralts line. If we could just hear some interviews on where the initial concept started or see some early concept art maybe it would click, but somewhere in the design iterations it got seperated from whatever it was initially based on
