The Japanese seem to have no issue with pokémon having sex. If you search for "pokémon egg/daycare" on Pixiv you don't get those comics that joke about the origin of eggs, it mostly results in pictures of pokémon mating (must be some euphemism over there).
Meanwhile, you get stuff like this and the conversation above in Western sites. I wonder why.
