Some things i hope that are here to stay
>crafting items
>throwing mechanic with overworld spawns (including visible shiny Pokemon)
>seamless transition into battle
>cities actually being in the open world map and not seperate loading zones (if BOTW and Genshin Impact can do this, so should Pokemon)
>8 gyms and a Pokemon League to unlock certain aspects of the progression
>more independant mobility for the player (like climbing and swimming without the need for a Pokemon, but it still being available as some kind of upgrade to those aspects)
>easy and acccessible multi player like in gen6
>better customization for trainers and the PC boxes
>any kind of battle facility that isnt just a tower
>accessible IV/EV system, the grit stuff in PLA is a good start
And of course, no more dexcuts.
