>>44404839Imagine it this way, each shoulder mon gives you access to a move you can use during battle seperate from your pokemon's move set. a fifth button much like z-moves and mega evolution. lets say the shoulder pokemon you chose was patrat, this fifth move you gain access to is mean look. now regardless of what pokemon you have sent out you can use mean look. whether this would be once per battle or on a turn based cooldown, im not sure.
on top of the extra attack, the game would allow you to activate "friend mode" where whatever pokemon you have on the field gains access to an ability from your shoulder on top of what they already have.
Using patrat again, say you had araquanid on the field. activating friend mode would allow you to give araquanid analytic stacking with water bubble. This would last for four turns or until you switched out.
There would be a range of shoulder mon to chose from though each providing a different extra move and friend mode ability respectively. A fair but realistic list of friend pokemon from existing generations would be
>Pikachu, thunderwave and lightning rod.>Growlithe, Roar and Justified>Clobbopus, Bulk Up and Technican >Marill, Tail Whip and Sap Sipper>Axew, Dragon Dance and Mold Breaker>Togepi, Metronome and serene grace>Aipom, Baton Pass and Skill link>Rookidee, Tailwind and mirror armour >Petlil, Sunny day and Chlorophyll>Nidoran, Attract and Rivalry>Salandit, Toxic and Corrosion>Trapinch, Sandstorm and Sheer force>Espurr, Reflect and infiltrator >Rockruff, Sand attack and Keen eye>Snorunt, protect and moody >Kricketot, Perish Song and shed skin>Duskull, Curse and Levitate>Purrloin, Prankster and Charm>Drifloon, Focus energy and Flare boost add or remove whatever you want but i personally think that works.
