People criticized the long Sootopolis conflict in RSE, people were annoyed by the Cynthia and Rowan dialogue in DPPt, there was animosity with how HGSS made dialogue from GSC longer, and people UTTERLY DESPISED the near-constant interruptions in BW/B2W2. Plus, have you not seen the general response to Gen 7? Even casuals said that they couldn't finish SM because it was so boring.
