XY replaced them with Tripokalons, an anime-only concept that resembled the ingame contests in spirit way more than the contests-in-name-only thing from AG and DP. They're a fan favorite and featured some really well animated dance performances.
PM19 just did a single episode featuring an ORAS contest mostly as lip service. It resembled Tripokalons more than it resembled contests, but we didn't get to see all that much of it.
