I didn't go to online forums at the time, so I had no idea how anyone felt about it.
I liked it though.
It seemed like every other pokemon got a "whoah, that's cool!" out of me.
Even got some new favorites out of it, which I can't really say for many of the other gens.
It wasn't until recently that I learned that BW had a huge backlash and that kinda saddens me.
Lots of new pokemon, huge new region, lots of post-game, but people are extremely upset because they couldn't use their charizard in the main-game.
