>>45880152Keep in mind that Wild Pokemon are always more vicious and violent than trained Pokemon. Pokemon Amie displayed this extremely well; a freshly caught Honedge will like to pet on the tassel but one you've bonded with will hate it if you touch it there. This is because the tassel is how Honedge saps your life force. A Honedge you just captured doesn't give a fuck if you accidently kill yourself trying to pet it, but one that's grown to like you will try to keep you from touching it there because it doesn't want to hurt you. I loved Amie and found it one of the best parts of Gen 6, and part of that was because just about every single Pokemon had this kind of touch to them.
A freshly caught Hatterene would probably remorselessly beat the tar out of a trainer who just captured it, but one that's bonded with it's trainer (like with Bede) will have grown to view such things as annoyances instead of painful rage-inducing torments, so they will opt for different methods instead. Bede says so himself, and also points out how his Hatterene enjoys quiet time in out of the way places to calm herself. And as is obvious, Bede is an unstable wreck initially, yet he's able to bond with his Hatenna just fine. So I really do think Hatterene's muderous rage is overblown a tad bit.
That being said, The Raging Goddess is still the raddest fucking title any Pokemon has.
