It is literally on a code level identical to base DP even down to having some of the same bugs, but runs infinitely better, offers nearly all Pokemon up to Gen 4 on one cart and has modern QoL and a working online. In a debate like this it is a valid option. I still think it's a disappointment but it is objectively better than base DP, but I still prefer Platinum because I am a battler and like the Battle Frontier even if teambuilding is infintely easier in BDSP, there just isn't much to do once you get the 100 streak in the Battle Tower. It's not perfect but it is better than DP, but I still think Platinum is better
