Is anyone else here a little dissapointed with the less detailed more stylized/cartoony 3d battles the new pokemon games went with?

I mean it's common sense the 3ds is almost as powerful as a gamecube, so why do pokemon look less detailed than they did in stadium? is gamefreak really that lazy where they are just going to make all future pokemon rpgs go down this "simpler" graphics route
