Johto and Kanto have their own distinct E4 for the first time finally.
Lance and Koga stays in Johto, in Kanto Lance is replaced with unnamed first planned gymleader, who specialises in Bugs. Green is Kanto Champion again, post-E4 battle is with Prof. Oak the original champion like originally planned, in Johto game with Red.
In Johto Giovanni/Green is replaced by Blue and Silver who helds the gym together. Crystal also appears as second rival (in Kanto game it's role of Blue)
