I had always known of Pokemon and was really familiar with all of them (I was so fucking stoked when Gen 2 was released) but I never had a Pokemon (or game system) until I had my GBA SP and eventually I got Sapphire.
It felt like I was on the biggest fucking adventure ever, and I thought it was cool because I was traveling alone, which up to that point I hadn't experienced in a game. (First system, remember).
I still need to finish my W/2 and X playthroughs, but even if I still don't get that done before ORAS, you can bet your ass I'll play the hell out of Alpha Sapphire on release.
It's going to be fucking glorious. All aboard the hype train to Hoenn.
