Tbh Scald has its merits if you're facing semi-stall or a more defensive team you can't expect to bulldoze. For instance, I run Porygon2 which shits on any non-retarded Greninja set (like PuP ones), and I can comfortably switch in regardless of what it fires. However, I want every Greninja in the world to run Hydro Pump instead of Scald, because if I take SR damage+ move damage+ burn damage and a U-turn to the nose to top it all, it'll sure get harder to respond properly. I think the same thing applies to some special walls/tanks that you can't do much about like Sylveon, Snorlax, Tentacruel and whatnot.
