>>20361582>mind linking a few cards that have too high of costs and aren't very impressive?I started off doing that, but I was linking to every image up to Qwilfish except Doublade then gave up. Doublade only gets a pass because the way it's written is much stronger than the way it was probably intended.
It's not unheard of for pic related to be summoned at no cost in terms of momentum and card economy. One of the decks that can summon it has another combo (which is losing popularity in the meta) that can turn 3 cards in hand into one of the best defensive monsters in Yugioh and a 2600 monster that can summon a different copy of an incredibly strong defensive monster.
Most of the custom cards at the start of the thread are focused on the Battle Phase and maintaining high ATK or high Life Points, but Yugioh hasn't been about raw attack since Man Eater Bug was released. Modern Yugioh involves controlling as much of the game state as possible during your Main Phase until your position is overwhelming compared to your opponents', by using either hard control effects that prevent/negate actions or soft control effects like disruption and removal. Things start getting better towards the middle of the thread, but for the most part the custom cards here are too focused on battle and the entire thread is littered with cards that are too conditional/situational.
