>>35682851Unluckily I don't have enough time atm to play Phoenix Rising, which i followed with interest during these years. At this point I think I'll wait their update as well with bug and stability fixes. I also got to help them just a bit with resources, but nothing too relevant due to my unstable work schedule. I think they're using an updated and corrected version of our older main character graphics and some tilesets here and there.
I think I cannot fully understand what those traps actually consist of.
By the way, I can tell you what's the focus of Garnet and what I'm personally trying to aim at with game design:
> travel, exploration and species discoveryI'm trying to implement systems such as camp-making, dynamic weather and multiple travel systems to enhance the feeling you're actually travelling and making your own adventure through the environment. You also get to know pokémon biology a bit more by observing their behavior; i.e. how they act in their areas. There are pokémons that dig tunnels and spawn behind you, others that float around and so on
> history and myth unveiling mainly by exploration and some main event happenings. In other words: there's a main diegetic part with the storyline happening during our travels in the region and a series of manufacts, side-quests, optional dungeons, stories and areas that provide further comprehension of the region very storyline. Those side-quests are meant to also be proportionally highly rewarding (pokémon finding both legendary and special, area unlocking, useful items). I'm trying this way to offer the most diverse experience as possible this way: if you want to get a rare species, you get that, but by doing that you also get to know more of your surroundings.
tl;dr: there's narration and then there's lore-based content.
