I want the power to interact with the world on my own terms. I don't have any interest in lording over others, in fact I want to spend most of my time alone at the bottom of a clear blue lake, but I do want the power of a dragon so that I would never have to fear being attacked or captured by others. I want to persist in this world even when any other creature's bones would have long since become ash, and even ignoring the human implications of a snake eating its own tail Dragonair has its Shed Skin ability to simply nullify status effects. I want the privilege of being able to give rain and sunshine freely to those who ask for it as if I were as powerful and selfless as the elements themselves were, and I want to look good doing it. Dragonair has always been one of my favorites because of how it looks: beautiful and deadly like a jeweled rapier, a creature literally spoken of as if it were divine simply because it expends its power to give unto those who ask of it.
Dragonite would be fine too, but my heart belongs to the sky serpent more.
